AWARD FOR KAISERSLAUTERN BRANCH OF OBERMEYER INFRASTRUKTUR AS AN EXEMPLARY TRAINING COMPANY

OBERMEYER Infrastruktur takes 2nd place in the German test study “Germany’s best training companies 2024” in the engineering office & service provider category. The branches in Dresden, Kaiserslautern, Neu-Ulm and Aschaffenburg also received the “Exemplary Training Company 2024” certificate from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK).

NEW EMPLOYMENT RECORD FOR THE WESTERN PALATINATE

“Since the surveys began in 1999, there have never been so many people in work in the region,” says Peter Weißler, Head of the Kaiserslautern-Pirmasens Employment Agency. Following the slight decline in February, the number of unemployed people fell once again in March. The number of job vacancies in the region remained at a high level.

KAISERSLAUTERN BECOMES MODEL MUNICIPALITY IN INTEGRATION STUDY

Kaiserslautern is one of twelve model municipalities in a new nationwide research project by the German Institute of Urban Affairs (difu). The project, which is funded by the Mercator Foundation, is entitled “Shaping arrival districts – paths to socio-spatial integration” and supports municipalities in strengthening social cohesion locally.

MORE GUESTS AND OVERNIGHT STAYS IN KAISERSLAUTERN THAN EVER BEFORE

Never before – at least since data collection began – have so many people visited Kaiserslautern and stayed overnight here as in 2023: The city recorded 332,991 overnight stays and 142,303 guests, which is 14.7 percent more overnight stays and even 17.1 percent more guests than in the peak year of 2019.

MINT-MACH-PASS CONVINCES JURY: FIRST PLACE OF THE FEDERAL ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOL LABORATORIES GOES TO LANDAUER “ZENTRAL”

For its project “MINT-Mach-Pass”, the Landau Centre for Education and Research at Extracurricular Learning Venues “ZentrAL” has achieved first place in the “LeLa Prize” of the Federal Association of School Laboratories “Lernort Labor” (LeLa). The prize is awarded for outstanding achievements and merits of school laboratories and school laboratory networks.
